Luxury Vinyl Installation in British Columbia

Working with Jordans Flooring for your new luxury vinyl flooring installation in British Columbia and Alberta offers tremendous benefits due to our long-standing presence and comprehensive services. As the Western Canada leader in floor coverings since 1929, we have in-depth expertise on all of our luxury vinyl and rigid core product lines:

Expertise in LVT/Rigid Core

While LVT and rigid core flooring are designed to be user-friendly, professional installation is crucial for a flawless, durable, and long-lasting result. We offer expert installation services for these specific flooring types.

Subfloor Requirements

Even with rigid core's ability to minimize minor subfloor imperfections, our professional installers ensure the subfloor is adequately prepared- clean, dry, and level -to prevent future issues like gapping, buckling, or compromised locking mechanisms.

Proper Technique

We will ensure that correct expansion gaps are left and that the planks are properly clicked and sealed, especially for waterproof rigid core installation in moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

We provide a supportive and informative experience, and ensure that your luxury vinyl flooring installation meets manufacturer guidelines for warranty coverage. With numerous locations throughout British Columbia including Vancouver, Victoria, Langley, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Richmond, Kelowna, Kamloops, and Nanaimo, use our expertise for exceptional results.

Does Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl Need to Acclimate Before Installation?

While rigid core luxury vinyl is known for its superior dimensional stability compared to traditional luxury vinyl or laminate, acclimation is still recommended and often required by manufacturers for the following reasons:

  • NUMBER1

    Temperature & Humidity

Even with robust WPC & SPC cores, rigid core products are not completely impervious to changes in temperature and humidity. When flooring is shipped and stored in a warehouse, it can experience different environmental conditions than your home.

  • NUMBER2

    Preventing Movement

If the flooring is installed directly from a very cold or very hot environment into a climate-controlled room, it can still expand or contract slightly as it reaches equilibrium with its new surroundings. This slight movement, though less drastic than with other flooring types, can still lead to:

    • Gapping: If the flooring contracts after installation.
    • Buckling: If the flooring expands excessively and has no room to move.
    • Compromised Locking: Stress on the click-lock system can weaken it over time.

  • NUMBER3

    Manufacturer Warranty

Most flooring manufacturers, even for rigid core vinyl, will have specific acclimation guidelines in their installation instructions. Failing to follow these guidelines can void your warranty if issues arise later.

  • NUMBER4

    Easier Installation

Acclimated planks are easier to work with, as they are less likely to be stiff from cold or prone to excessive movement during the installation process.
